Philippe Cousteau is a multi-Emmy nominated TV host, author, speaker, and social entrepreneur. Philippe and his wife Ashlan are the stars of a new series for The Travel Channel called Caribbean Pirate Treasure. It follows the Cousteau's as they travel around the Caribbean, diving into maritime mysteries, exploring pirate histories and investigating the lore of lost treasures. In 2016 they co-hosted Nuclear Sharks, the #1 show for Discovery’s Shark Week. He is also the host and executive producer of Awesome Planet airing on Fox and Hulu, now in its fourth season. As a special correspondent for CNN, he has hosted several award-winning shows, including Going Green and Expedition Sumatra. Philippe has also hosted and produced television programs for Animal Planet and the BBC. Philippe has served as a consultant on a select group of international developments as a conceptual designer of immersive and meaningful 21st century experiences that leverage local environmental and cultural assets to redefine destinations. He also advises on best practices for social and environmental sustainable development. In 2012 he was the president and spokesperson of the US Pavilion at the Yeosu World Expo in South Korea. His firm designed, built, and operated the Pavilion in partnership with the United States Department of State. Philippe is the author of three books: Follow the Moon Home, Going Blue and Make a Splash, all three of which have won multiple awards. In 2004 he founded EarthEcho International, a leading environmental education organization dedicated to inspiring youth to take action for a sustainable planet. EarthEcho’s programs prepare the next generation to be civically engaged, critical thinkers that are equipped to solve the massive environmental challenges we face. Philippe is a sought-after speaker having hosted and keynoted various events for the United Nations, Harvard University, USC, the Society of Environmental Journalists and many more. He has testified before Congress and most recently presented at TEDx Pennsylvania Ave. Philippe has served on the Board of Directors of the Ocean Conservancy, the National Environmental Education Foundation and the Marine Conservation Biology Institute. He currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation and WWF’s National Council. Philippe and his wife, fellow adventurer and TV host Ashlan Gorse-Cousteau, reside in Los Angeles, California.
