Renee Albrecht

As Senior Policy Advocate for Food and Freshwater, Renee drives policy and advocacy efforts for WWF’s goals related to food and freshwater systems. She works with Members of Congress and their staff, US Government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other key stakeholders to advance policies that protect freshwater resources, safeguard critical landscapes, and promote a more sustainable and resilient food system.

Renee has over nine years of experience advancing conservation solutions that deliver for both people and nature. She brings expertise from previous roles spanning agency, academic, and non-profit settings. Most recently, Renee worked as a policy analyst with Defenders of Wildlife to further biodiversity conservation on the nation’s private lands. She holds a master’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, Bloomington. Renee is currently based in Takoma Park, Maryland and enjoys musical pursuits and exploring the outdoors in her free time.
